who shares a close bond then the endearments such as ’Dear’, ‘Hello’, and ’To’ use follow by the first name of the person. If the person does not share a very close bond then the endearments are follow by their surname. In the case of a personal business letter, the person is address by their surname.

Mrs — for a married female Miss — for an unmarried female
Ms — for a female whose status is unknown or would prefer to remain anonymous

Conclude the letter with ‘Yours sincerely’ followed with your signature underneath. This is the structure of a letter.
